Mount Holly, North Carolina – faced a devastating double deadly shooting, claiming the life of 19-year-old Jayden Munson, a prominent student at Louisburg College. Hailing from Concord, Jayden was remembered by family and friends as a cherished brother, son, and friend, leaving behind a profound impact on many lives.
A teammate on the Louisburg College Men’s Basketball team, Jayden was one of the victims identified in the tragic incident that unfolded on Thursday, December 14, 2023, near Piedmont Avenue and Dodge Street. The Mount Holly Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots, discovering both victims inside a vehicle, both succumbing to fatal gunshot wounds despite immediate medical attention.
The other victim identified in the homicide was Jaylan Marray Jackson, also 19 and from Concord. Chief Brian Reagan expressed condolences to the families affected, highlighting ongoing investigations focused on the incident involving individuals familiar with each other. Emphasizing that the community faces no immediate threat, the police department urged the public to come forward with any information to aid the investigation.
