Javonnta Murphy, also known as part of the band Tank & Booq, often shared clips of himself performing tunes in his car. He grew up in south LA with his mother, grandmother, and four brothers, and he had a young son. In his free time, he enjoyed running and weightlifting.
Unfortunately, Murphy had a troubled past, as he was arrested in 2017 for battery, domestic violence, and failing to appear in court. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail, three years on probation, and domestic abuse classes. He spent three more days in jail in 2018 for breaking a protective order made by the court.

Javonnta went missing since at least Sunday, July 30, 2023. A close family friend, Patrick Nelson, described him as a good kid and a good person who was not involved in gangs. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear and deeply saddening.
His body was discovered on Sunday, July 30, 2023, when a beach worker in Malibu spotted a 55-gallon barrel floating off the shore. The barrel was later retrieved by a lifeguard, who found Murphy’s naked body stuffed inside. Authorities suspect foul play in his death.
