Jason Sutcliffe, Valley Center physical therapist, killed in a car accident in Kansas, Obituary

WICHITA, Kan. – In a catastrophic incident early Monday morning, the famous physical therapist, Jason Sutcliffe, aged 44 and hailing from Valley Center, lost his life in a tragic car accident on Interstate 135 in north Wichita. The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. as Sutcliffe’s 2020 Jeep Wrangler veered off the road, striking a KDOT construction sign and a guardrail before overturning and coming to rest on its right side.

Regrettably, Sutcliffe, the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Shockingly, he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, as revealed by the Kansas Highway Patrol’s online crash log.

The exact cause leading to the vehicle’s departure from the roadway remains unclear, prompting further investigation by authorities.

The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed the tragic incident, indicating that the crash transpired near the city’s north junction. The vehicle was heading northbound on I-135 in the left lane before the unfortunate events unfolded. The fatal collision left the community in mourning as the news of Jason Sutcliffe’s death spread, leaving family and friends devastated.

Jason Sutcliffe, a well-regarded physiotherapist based in Newton, had gained immense respect from clients for his exceptional skills and expertise. Originally from Eldorado Springs, MO, Sutcliffe spent most of his life in Kansas. His journey to becoming a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) was marked by dedication and passion. He initially worked as a PT tech while pursuing higher education, later transitioning to a PTA role. He held certifications in Rock blades and Rock tape, showcasing his commitment to excellence in his field.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Sutcliffe was known for his love for martial arts and adventure. He was also a loving father, cherishing quality time with his children. His career took a significant turn when he assumed the role of VP of Operations/PTA at Empower Physical Therapy, a position he held with dedication since October 20, 2019.

Following this tragic loss, a GoFundMe account has been set up by Jennifer Sutcliffe of Gypsum, Kansas, aiming to raise $5,000 to support Jason Sutcliffe’s family with funeral and memorial expenses. The community has already contributed $4,417 to help the grieving family during this difficult time.
