Highland Park Presbyterian Church mourns the loss of Pastor, Rev. Bryan Dunagan, at 44

In a somber announcement, Highland Park Presbyterian Church revealed the heartbreaking news of the passing of Reverend Bryan Dunagan, their esteemed senior pastor for nine years. The 44-year-old clergyman, only the seventh pastor in the church’s 88-year history, peacefully passed away in his sleep due to natural causes, according to an email shared with the congregation on October 26.

The message, signed by the church’s executive pastor, Jay Lee, expressed the deep shock and sorrow within the church community. “This news has left us shaken to our core, and we are struggling to come to terms with this profound loss,” the statement read. “We’re lifting up the Dunagan family, our congregation, our Family of Churches, our staff, and our entire community inside and outside of our church walls.”

In an effort to seek solace and guidance together, the church will host a guided prayer session on October 27 from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. The message invited everyone to join in prayer, asking for wisdom during this time of grief and seeking divine guidance for the path forward. The church expressed heartfelt gratitude to the congregation for their unwavering support, leadership, and love for Bryan.
