Nash has collaborated with a number of important organizations. She was the public face of the group M.A.V.I.S. (Mothers Against Violence in Schools). Her mother created the group in 1993, after Nash’s younger brother, Michael, was tragically murdered in a school shooting that year. Niecy assisted her mother in running the M.A.V.I.S. until they decided to close it down.
