Paris, TN – Harry Lee Walker, who was born on December 4, 1936, in the Old 23rd District, peacefully passed away on October 17, 2023, in Puryear at the age of 86. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community involvement, and cherished family memories.
Harry dedicated his working years as a machinist, with a career that included employment at various shops. Eventually, he ventured into entrepreneurship, owning and operating his own establishment, Walker’s Machine Shop. Apart from his professional life, Harry found joy in attending auctions and yard sales, fostering a passion for unique discoveries. He was an active member of the Masonic community and was a faithful attendee of the Paris Bible Community Church.
On March 15, 1957, Harry Lee Walker married Bobbie Jean Wade Walker, with whom he shared a lifelong journey until her passing on August 24, 2022.
Harry was the son of the late Harry Greer Walker and the late Iola Gray Walker, hailing from the Old 23rd District.
He is survived by three sons: Robert Lee Walker of Paris, John David Walker of Puryear, and James Mark (Marsha) Walker of McKenzie. In addition to his sons, Harry is survived by two sisters, Jacky Clendenin of Paris, and Flora Ann Gibbons of Missouri. He is also remembered by eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Though his life was marked by love and dedication, Harry experienced the sorrow of loss, having been preceded in death by his son, Harry Gene Walker, a grandson, Shaun Walker, and a great-grandson, Landon Deskins.
Services for Harry Lee Walker will be provided by Ridgeway Funeral Home, located at 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by his funeral service at 1:00 pm, with Roger Wallace officiating. Pallbearers for the service will include Leon Murray, Nathan Jordan, Sean Ferguson, Cody Walker, Joseph Walker, and Christian Younger.
Following the service, Harry will be laid to rest at Mixie Cemetery in Carroll County.
