The Strongsville, Ohio community is mourning the loss of Scott Berghaus, a respected Financial Advisor at Thrivent Financial, who passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 59. Scott’s untimely death was announced through a poignant social media post extending condolences to his wife, Diane Hollish, and their sons. Described as a kind, caring, and devoted family man, Scott’s impact was widespread, with a reputation for living his life in accordance with his faith.
Scott Berghaus pursued his education in financial planning at Meyers University from 2006 to 2008 and The American College of Financial Services from 2010 to 2011, earning the CLF designation in Finance and Financial Management Services. His professional journey included serving as a Regional Director at Thrivent Financial from 2018 to 2019, and at the time of his passing, he held the position of Financial Advisor at Thrivent Financial in the Cleveland-Akron-Youngstown region.
Born to Norm and Julie, Scott was a dear brother to John, Mark, Michael, and Heidi Fravel. His 28-year marriage to Diane and his role as a loving and devoted father to Scottie and Michael defined him as a family man who cherished the moments spent together.
Known for his passion for financial planning, Scott was an integral part of the Thrivent Financial team. Beyond his professional life, he found joy in Cleveland sports, grilling on the big green egg, and, most importantly, spending quality time with family, friends, and his beloved dog Maggie.
To pay respects and celebrate Scott’s life, a funeral service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 6041 Ridge Rd., Parma, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Hope Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Ripepi Funeral Home, 5762 Pearl Rd., to remember and honor the life of Scott Berghaus during this challenging time. He will be remembered with love and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
