Lincoln County, MO – A heart-wrenching tragedy struck Lincoln County, Missouri, claiming the lives of three teenagers in a devastating car crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. on February 5, 2023.
The crash involved a Ford Focus carrying five individuals, tragically resulting in the deaths of Emily McNees, Kaeden Tyler, and William Flickinger. The vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old girl, allegedly went airborne, skidded, and collided with a tree, leading to the fatal outcome. Two survivors, the driver and a 20-year-old male passenger, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a St. Louis hospital.
Emily McNees, a 17-year-old student enrolled at St. Charles Community College, aspired to pursue a career in nursing. Described as a former cheerleader at Troy Buchanan High School, her untimely demise has left a profound void in the lives of her loved ones.
Monica Donley shared grieving on facebook and wrote, “I dont even have any words. You were such a sweet and beautiful soul. You brought joy to so many peoples lives. I love you forever emily. Rest In Peace my angle. give grandma mcnees and grandpa don a big hug for me. Ik ur at peace because you are reunited with grandma. You were always in my thoughts and always will be. I love you baby cousin keep our family protected.”
William Flickinger, attending New Horizons High School in Troy, was passionate about basketball and football. His vibrant spirit and enthusiasm for sports enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
Kaeden Tyler, just 15 years old and a student at Troy Ninth Grade Center, was remembered as a devoted sibling, a talented athlete, and a cherished friend, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
The aftermath of the crash has deeply affected the families and communities of the victims. While the driver, Hailey Zenk, faces legal proceedings, the emotional scars left by this tragic incident persist among the families, friends, and survivors involved.
