Tragedy struck the Del Oro High School community as sophomore student Keira Bradley tragically lost her life in a devastating UTV accident on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by the Placer Union High School District through a solemn statement urging support for Keira’s family, friends, and the entire Del Oro community during this incredibly challenging time.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. when Keira, aged 15, was operating a side-by-side four-seater utility terrain vehicle near Newcastle. Accompanied by two other passengers, an unforeseen error led the vehicle to back into a steep embankment while attempting to maneuver onto a nearby driveway. Regrettably, this caused the vehicle to lose control and roll onto its left side, resulting in the tragic loss of the young life of Keira Bradley.
