Biography of Darrell Brooks

The jury found Darrell Brooks Jr. held accountable for his conduct during the 2021 Christmas parade. This resulted in six deaths and hundreds of injuries. The jury also found him with multiple felony counts.

Tuesday saw two hours of discussions, followed by a second meeting on Wednesday morning.

Sentencing Darrell Brooks

Brooks was found guilty of 76 charges against him in the assault. The jury took just over three hours. Six counts of willful first-degree murder were included in the charges. Each of these charges carries a mandatory life sentence.

Brooks looked down as the verdict was read. He hid his face in his hands and rubbed his forehead.

Brooks’ red Ford Blazer SUV, the Ford Blazer, passed Christmas parade testing in 2021. It left at least six dead and at least 61 injured. The victims were rescued by the authorities along with other citizens. They also started looking for the driver.

Before sentencing, everyone wore blue Waukesha Strength sweatshirts. They gathered outside the courtroom with their heads bowed, and their prayers went unspoken.

Judge Darrell Brooks

Jennifer Dorow, Circuit Judge in Waukesha County has scheduled a hearing for Monday to decide when the sentencing will take place. She has also announced that she will allow victims to submit impact reports via Zoom.
