Colin, a cherished resident of Chicago, touched the lives of many with his boundless generosity and unconditional love. His sudden demise has left loved ones in shock and the community bereaved.

Colin Myron was more than just a resident of Chicago; he was a dedicated volunteer for Honor Flight Chicago, an organization that honors veterans by providing them with memorable trips to Washington, D.C. Colin’s commitment to this noble cause was unwavering. He had been a stalwart volunteer since the days of Honor Flight Chicago’s Lincoln Park headquarters. His selflessness shone through on flight days, in the office, and during fundraising events.

His personal connections seemed endless, and he never hesitated to leverage them for the benefit of Honor Flight Chicago’s mission. The organization remembered him fondly, stating, “When they sent him a message with an assignment or asking for assistance, the response was inevitably ‘whatever you need.’” In recent years, Colin took on the role of a bus captain on flight days, exemplifying his dedication to the cause. He even captained the Green Bus on the recent HFC112 flight day, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the mission.

 

The impact Colin Myron made on the lives of veterans and his fellow volunteers was immeasurable. His spirit of kindness and willingness to serve others endeared him to everyone he met. Colin Myron was the brother my husband never had- the best uncle the girls could ask for and a best friend to me for over 25 years …I am not one to ever post- but he deserves to know how special he was… he touched so many people …more than I could ever have imagined. His generosity and unconditional love is something we can never replace…We are heart broken and I know we will never get over this loss but I do know that these last couple of days the amazing support everyone has shown us and Jp will hopefully help us start smiling again soon . The memories we have we will never be forgotten…. Rest in peace Colin you will forever be in our hearts…

Services to celebrate Colin Myron’s life will be held on Monday, October 30, starting with a visitation at 8:30 a.m. at Cumberland Chapel (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge). Following the visitation, a mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul of the Cross (320 S Washington Ave, Park Ridge), with a luncheon to follow (location to be announced).
