“Clay,You have been my brother for as long as I can remember, One of my mothers wayward sons, one of the people I have loved, and worried about most in this world. You lit up every room you walked into and lived life like few could. I would give anything in the world to go back to you barging into my house at 6 am to make pancakes and wake up “our”mom Cody, Or to ride around in that old Ford Ranger pickup (the one with mattress in the back..) with a stolen bottle of cheap whiskey and a couple .22’s, doing all the illegal things us country kids did. We never got along with the local law enforcement, and abused the backroads of county road 2 and 4 like we owned them. Those years were like a bad country song, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I had a proposition for you in my back pocket I was just about to hit you with, selfishly I wanted you and Danny out of Colorado and were I am, but sadly that opportunity has passed. You were one of one and I’ll never forget the impact you had on my life.Love you always brother.”
