The community of Yorktown Heights, New York, is in mourning as they bid farewell to Chris Provenzano, a beloved resident, soccer coach, and esteemed board member of Mahopac Soccer. The sad news of his passing was shared by Mahopac Soccer through a somber social media post, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of one of our board members, Chris Provenzano.”
For years, Christopher Provenzano has been an integral part of Mahopac Soccer, serving not only as a dedicated board member but also as a mentor, close friend, and soccer coach for his children’s teams. Chris, a fervent soccer enthusiast, was an invaluable member of the Mahopac Soccer community, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Chris Provenzano’s commitment to his family, particularly his children Andrew and Ella, was unparalleled. He spared no effort to enhance their lives and support them in pursuing their dreams. Described as a loving father and husband to Chelsea Provenzano, Chris was not only a coach but a friend to many, always willing to extend a helping hand.
In response to this tragic loss, Mahopac Mayhem has initiated two fundraising efforts to support Chris Provenzano’s family. The first GoFundMe, aiming to raise $15,000 for Chris’ wife and children, has garnered $2,915 at the time of this report. The second GoFundMe, with a goal of $10,000 for funeral expenses, has raised $2,355. The community, recognizing that no amount of money can fill the void left by Chris’ untimely death, is rallying to provide love and financial assistance to help maintain stability for the grieving family.
The family plans to release Chris Provenzano’s obituary and funeral arrangements at a later date, as the community comes together to remember and honor the legacy of a dedicated coach and cherished community member.
