Who was June Fox-Roberts? 65-year-old granny murdered by a stranger in her own home

June Fox-Roberts was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who tragically lost her life in her own home in 2021. A complete stranger, Luke Deeley, entered her house in Llantwit Fardre, South Wales, and brutally murdered her, claiming to be acting under a “higher power.”

June had led an active life, working as an IT consultant and running a small bakery and cafe called June’s Cakes and Shakes. She was known for her kind and welcoming nature, always ready to offer a cuppa or a glass of wine to visitors and help anyone in need.

The attack on June occurred when she was alone at home over the weekend. Deeley bludgeoned her, causing her to collapse, and then proceeded to decapitate and dismember her. Her body was discovered by one of her daughters.

Luke Deeley arrested

Deeley, a paranoid schizophrenic art student, was arrested two days after the murder. He claimed to have received instructions from a “higher power” to commit the act. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter by way of diminished responsibility and was detained indefinitely in a psychiatric hospital under the Mental Health Act.

June’s family was left devastated by the loss, as she was taken from them in a horrific manner. They described her as a caring and generous person who always put her family first. To shed light on the police investigation into June’s killing, ITV released a two-part documentary series titled Code Blue: The Killing Of June Fox-Roberts in July 2023.

The tragic incident took away a loving family member and a cherished member of the community, leaving her loved ones to cope with the immense pain and loss.
