Chaz Legere’s death has surprised his closest relatives and friends. Legere, a former UNC hockey player, died at his house on December 16 at the age of 27. Only on December 20 did individuals outside of his immediate family learn of his death via a Facebook post made by UNC Bear Hockey. Most, if not all, who have come into touch with Chaz have only positive things to say about him. Chaz’s hockey career never progressed to the professional level, and he retired shortly after graduation in 2019. Chaz was formerly employed with Modern Woodmen of America and worked in the sales department before to his death. Chaz’s elder brother, Max, revealed facts about his brother’s death on his Instagram page. We are praying for the Legere family at this difficult time.
UNC Hockey Chaz Legere’s Death and Obituary
Chaz Legere, a former UNC hockey player, passed away unexpectedly at the early age of 27. Chaz, who is from Superior, Colorado, played college hockey at UNC for four years. Chaz’s death was revealed on the UNC Bears Hockey Facebook page. On one website, it said, “The UNC Hockey family is mourning the loss of former player Chaz Legere, who unexpectedly passed away on Saturday.”
They also expressed their sympathies to the Legere family in a Facebook message. Brad Pershing, a close friend of the Legere family, also published a long Facebook message to express his sadness at the former hockey player’s death. Pershing wrote. Chaz had a great impression on everyone he encountered and could make anybody in the room laugh. Friends referred him Chaz as “Cheese,” and Pershing highlighted it in his Facebook post. He wrote, “The Cheese That We Will Forever Miss.” Brad concluded the statement by paying tribute to the fallen soul and requesting that he keep everyone safe.
Chaz Legere’s Death Cause
Max, Chaz’s brother, isn’t particularly active on Facebook, and his last post was three years ago. However, on his Instagram page, Max acknowledged his brother’s death and revealed the reason. He shared a collection of photographs of him and Chaz with their family members, stating that Chaz died at 2 a.m. on December 16. Max described how he discovered his brother’s corpse in the caption of the Instagram image. Max discovered his sibling laying down lifeless and performed CPR for fifteen minutes. He then waited another 30 minutes for the EMT to resuscitate his brother, but they were unable.
Max said he was hanging out with his brother 20 minutes before his death, and they were having a fantastic time. He wrote on Chaz’s effect on everyone and how much he will miss his little brother. It’s terrifying to see someone younger than you die, especially if it’s your brother. Max believed it was unjust that his younger brother died so young and that it made no sense.
Chaz’s Post-Hockey Future
Chaz appeared in 48 games throughout his four years at UNC. He was a forward who scored one goal in his debut year. So it was evident that Legere was not interested in playing professional hockey. Chaz, who graduated from UNC with a communication degree in 2019, became the finance representative for Modern Woodmen of America. He spent a year there before joining Power Home Remodeling.
Chaz works in sales at Power House Remodeling. Looking at his LinkedIn profile, Chaz may have been looking for a new job, since he used the headline “Open To Work.” Chaz has a few Instagram posts, the most of them feature his family members. Chaz’s previous post was in January of this year, when he went to a sports event with his brother and father.
