Catherine Greiner News
Following concerns by NSW’s recently appointed Aging Minister Mark Coure (pictured at right) that the Council has been “stacked” with Liberal Party allies under the previous chief Meanwhile, the State Government’s Council of Ministers on Aging (MACA), which provides advice on retirement living and aged care, is said to be under review.
The Australian revealed last week that before NSW Premier Dominic Perottet (shown left) reshuffles his Cabinet in December 2021, Natalie Ward, who has held the post for seven months, has replaced one Council members equal to Liberal Party loyalists.
MACA was established to advise the State Government on the needs of older people in NSW. Its head is Kathryn Greiner, a former Retirement Village Ambassador and former chair of the NSW Inquiry into the NSW Retirement Village Area. The program has not started backing up since Ms Greiner’s Ambassador term expired at the end of 2020.
Sally Betts, Liberal Party councilor from Waverley, Barbara Ward, deputy mayor of Ku-ring-gai, and Tony Virtue, financial advisor and head of the Liberal Masculine Enterprise Branch, are located. among the allegedly dubious appointments of the Liberal Party. None of these individuals are listed on the MACA membership website.
According to the publication, Mr Coure is considering expanding the board to re-appoint some of the options he was “angry” about after the Cabinet’s approval. However, Ms Ward dismissed claims that the new members lacked the necessary expertise and insisted that existing Council members had at least two prior terms.
