It was Suna Guy who eventually confessed to a chilling turn of events that unfolded during their ill-fated journey. According to Suna Guy’s confession, the trio had planned to rob Carla of her money and possessions once they reached the reservation. Their intentions had been communicated on Facebook. However, the tragic incident took a horrifying turn when Daylin St. Pierre accidentally shot Carla Yellowbird at close range, leading to her untimely death. The incident occurred in the early hours of August 24, 2016.

In a shocking twist, Carla Yellowbird’s lifeless body was found concealed in bushes near St. Michael a month after her disappearance, in September. A subsequent autopsy confirmed that she had succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the head. Notably, her personal belongings, including the clothing she had been carrying, were missing.
