Caledonia Fair fight involving 150 teenagers, 16-year-old charged with public intoxication

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Haldimand County were alerted to the situation around 8 p.m. on Friday when reports of a significant altercation surfaced at the Caledonia Fairgrounds on Caithness Street. It was stated that numerous fights had erupted among the sizable gathering of teenagers present at the fair.

As officers rushed to the scene, they encountered an ongoing brawl involving the youths. Additional assistance was summoned from the Norfolk and Brant County OPP detachments, as well as the OPP emergency response team, to help quell the escalating tensions and restore order.

Thankfully, there were no reported injuries to the police resulting from the altercations. However, one individual was apprehended during the incident. A 16-year-old was charged with public intoxication, shedding light on a concerning aspect of the events.
