Tomah, Wisconsin – The racing community and residents of Tomah are mourning the loss of Brad Wildes, a well-known car racer who passed away after bravely battling cancer. His death was confirmed on Sunday, November 12, 2023, leaving family, friends, and colleagues devastated.
Brad Wildes, affectionately known as “The Wildman,” was a native and resident of Tomah, Wisconsin. He completed his education at Tomah High School and pursued Auto Body Collision Technology at Winona Tech, graduating in 1997. Brad served as an Infantry in the United States Army from 1992 to 1995 before joining the United States Postal Service for employment.
Despite the adrenaline-filled world of competitive racing, Brad remained down-to-earth. He actively engaged with fans, sharing his racing experiences and insights with aspiring individuals, becoming an inspiration for the next generation of speed enthusiasts. Brad’s involvement in the community, both at local events and on social media, earned him a special place in the hearts of fans, making him a local hero.

So many memories Brad Wildes…the guy who roped us into running Ragnar, eating my trail mix every race, our shared love of peanut butter candies, peeping at snapchats you shouldn’t see, that crazy Billy Bob wig and all your other Ragnar costumes, “stalking” me at work while you worked the post office, driving down the mountain in TN at 85 mph, getting digits, our constant nagging each other banter. Fly high, friend, you will be missed. We may just have to run just one more Ragnar in your honor.
