Beijing Opera Stage Harassment in Ningxiang; Performer sparks outburst from husband

Ningxiang, Hunan Province – A disturbing incident unfolded at the Beijing Opera stage in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, leaving spectators in shock and prompting outrage nationwide. On October 17, a group of male spectators harassed a female performer, Ning, after her performance. The situation escalated when several men boldly approached the stage, disregarding Ning’s protests, and proceeded to invade her personal space. Despite her clear discomfort, they persisted, cheered on by their friends who encouraged their inappropriate behavior.

The situation took a more alarming turn when one of the men forcefully hugged Ning and kissed her, while others joined in the harassment. The performer’s husband, witnessing the distressing scene, swiftly intervened to protect his wife. He confronted the group of harassers, displaying immense courage in the face of the appalling incident.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many expressing shock and anger over the harassment. While it is common for performers to receive tips from spectators after shows, such public humiliation has raised concerns about the safety and respect performers deserve.
