Andrew Dominik, an Australian film director, has come under fire online for defending criticism over the September 2022 release of Blonde. The 55-year-old star commented at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia that the American public “hates the film” and only wants to see great figures like Marilyn Monroe honored.
He declared:
“Today, portraying powerful women is necessary, and they want to recreate Marilyn Monroe as a powerful woman.” That’s exactly what they wanted to see. And if you don’t show them that, they get upset.”
Dominik also stated that the film Blonde, based on Monroe’s life, was accused of exploiting the actress, which makes no sense at this point. He stated the following:

Continuing at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Andrew Dominik said the film Blonde was produced with the aim of changing the perception of Marilyn Monroe’s life. Dominik average:

“You can’t really think for other people, but I believe that when it comes to a famous American, what they want is a biography, a tribute to that person, and a tribute to the custom of that period.”
Despite criticism of the film, Dominik claimed that “tens of millions” of people watched it.
