Al Strobel Passed Away At The Age Of 83

Al Strobel, the iconic actor, died on December 2 at the age of 83. He is most recognized for his role as Mike in Twin Peaks, dubbed The One-Handed Man. In a Facebook post, producer Sabrina S. Sutherland revealed the tragic news of his death:

“I regret to announce that Al Strobel died last night. I appreciate him.

The circumstances behind Strobel’s death are still unclear. Therefore, no funeral arrangements were made.

Over the years, Al Strobel has featured in a number of films and television series. The actor rose to prominence and acclaim for his role as Phillip Michael Gerard, commonly known as Mike, on the ABC series Twin Peaks. Strobel’s character, Mike, initially engages in a lot of nefarious behavior with the series’ other nemesis, Bob. After his religious awakening, Mike realized his mistake and amputated his arm, leading to the removal of a tattoo that reads “Fire Walk With Me”. Mike, a “resident spirit”, is only seen in the physical form of his host, Phillip Michael Gerard, a salesman who recently moved here in search of a job. He initially claimed to have “Mother” engraved on his left arm, but he removed it after his arm was amputated in a car crash. Twin Peaks, created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, ran for three seasons and 48 episodes from April 8, 1990 to June 10, 1991. A revival that debuted in 2017 received excellent reviews from reviewers and the crowd.

Al Strobel, born in 1939, began his acting career as Byron in the 1986 supernatural horror film Shadow Play. Susan Shadburne directed the film starring Dee Wallace, Cloris Leachman, and Ron Kuhlman. After starring in Twin Peaks, he went on to star in films such as Sit Target, Megaville, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Ricochet River, Child of Darkness, Child of Light, and Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces.
