The Beaufort County community mourns the tragic loss of 9-year-old Eli Mccloud, who passed away on December 11, 2023, following a devastating car accident. Eli’s vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless energy left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the joy of knowing him.
Born on October 6, 2014, in Beaufort County, NC, Eli was a dynamic and joyful individual who found joy in every adventure. From his passion for Nerf Guns and water guns to spirited gaming sessions on his headset, Eli embraced life with unbridled enthusiasm. His emerging sneakerhead status and his love for freshly harvested onions added unique and quirky layers to his delightful personality.
Eli was a bundle of energy, reveling in activities such as swimming, biking, and navigating imaginary worlds with his beloved toy cars. Known for his rapid-fire conversations in a distinctive country accent, Eli’s vivacious spirit and boundless curiosity made him a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew him.
Eli Mccloud leaves behind a legacy of exuberance and zest for life. He is survived by his father Phil McCloud Jr., stepmother Ashleigh McCloud, mother Ashley McCloud, and siblings Maliyah Burnett, Isabel, and Jimmy McCloud. His extended family, including grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, and numerous cousins, share in the grief of his untimely departure.
A Funeral Service in memory of Eli Mccloud will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service Chapel, with a visitation prior to the service at 1:00 PM. The committal will follow immediately thereafter at Homestead Memorial Gardens at 4251 E. 10th St. in Greenville, NC.
