Yuka Kitamura, a composer for FromSoftware, has left the organization and is currently focusing on freelancing. She has contributed to games like Bloodborne, Shadows Die Twice, and Dark Souls III.

“Thank you all for your continued support,” Kitamura wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). I have a statement to make today. I’ve made the decision to leave the firm I worked for, FromSoftware, and begin working as a freelance composer in August.

“I would like to continue expressing myself in-game music through various musical genres,” she concluded. I hope you’ll anticipate hearing more of my music in the future! A new website has been made for me. She is a specialist in orchestral, folk, and casual musical genres, according to her website.

In 2012’s Armoured Core: Verdict Day, Kitamura received one of her first honours as a sound designer after joining From Software in 2011. Her last known contribution was music for the Elden Ring from the previous year. She may or may not appear in the Armoured Core VI: Fires of Rubicon credits, according to From Software. As it launches on August 25 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, that information should be made public soon.

We stated in IGN’s preview of Armoured Core VI: Fires of Rubicon that “Armoured Core 6 feels like a new beginning for this storied franchise, one that’s benefitted from the success and experience gained from From Software’s other titles, but one that is still true to the original vision of the series.”

For IGN, George Yang writes on a freelance basis. Since 2019, he has been writing about the industry, and he has contributed to Insider, Kotaku, NPR, and Variety, among other media.
