Wynonna Judd, Naomi Judd’s daughter, spoke about her mother’s death on CBS Sunday Morning in April of this year. She said that she is still furious after her mother’s death and that the emotion will last for some time. Wynonna’s rage stems from her inability to assist her mother.
She stated the following:
“Because she had previous episodes and recovered.” And that’s how my neighborhood is; was there anything else I should have searched for? Or should I have known better?”
When asked about the events after her mother’s death, Wynonna recounted rushing to her home to visit her mother after her sister Ashley discovered the corpse. She added that she had said her goodbyes to her mother in the hospital and was unsure of what to do next.
Wynonna said that she feels her mother’s presence and also discussed her connection with Naomi, saying:
“We were so close, and then she’d get upset with me… We’d disagree, get estranged, and then come back together to embrace and weep. It was quite difficult. We tried so hard, and those are my tears because I know we tried and did quite well. “The majority of the time.”
She noted that a person loses a lot with the loss of their mother, despite the fact that all of these are past emotions. Wynonna went on to say that her mother once grabbed her hand in hers and told her that her life was better because of her and that those memories are now flooding back to her.

Naomi Judd died at the age of 76 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Naomi Judd committed herself on April 30, 2022, at her home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her death occurred when she was 76 years old. Her daughters posted on Twitter after her death:
“Today was a tragic day for our sisters.” Our lovely mother succumbed to the affliction of mental illness.”
Ashley Judd revealed the circumstances behind her mother’s death on Good Morning America on May 12, 2022. She disclosed this in order to raise awareness about mental illness and to have the family share the reason for death rather than someone else. Naomi Judd struggled with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and suicide ideation for a long period. She took lithium, which had a negative impact on her, causing facial edema, baldness, and tremors. Naomi’s memorial was shown on CMT, and a program named Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration, presented by Robin Roberts, was broadcast from the Ryman Auditorium. The event included well-known celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Morgan Freeman, Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek, Jamey Johnson, and others.
Naomi Judd rose to prominence after founding The Judds with her daughter Wynonna. Naomi’s New Morning premiered in 2005, and she was a judge and coach on the reality competition series Can You Duet in 2008. She also starred in The Killing Game, a Lifetime TV movie that aired in 2011.
