Adil Raja is a major and self-proclaimed retired social media activist who became famous on YouTube for making videos and making accusations against the Pakistani Army, former Army Commander-in-Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, also as other military and ISI officials. He presents himself as an ardent supporter of Pakistan, often appearing with the Pakistani flag in his videos, criticizing army officers but not seeing him as an enemy of the country.
However, it is important to note that allegations against individuals, such as Adil Raja, need to be proven and verified. In the YouTube world, where controversial videos tend to garner more views, some YouTubers adopt a strategy of accusing others in order to gain popularity. Adil Raja and Imran Riaz Khan are cited as examples of such YouTubers, but the allegations themselves need to be proven.
Adil Raja faced attention earlier this year when a senior Pakistani Army officer filed a defamation lawsuit against him in the British Supreme Court. The case alleges that Raja made controversial statements accusing the officer of engaging in the horse trade with former Army Chief of Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa. The lawsuit alleges that Raja’s social media campaign launched on June 14, 2021 damaged the reputation of the officer in question.
In addition, Raja has made serious allegations against top models and actors in Pakistan, suggesting that the country’s establishment, including top military officers, uses them as ” honey trap” to trap politicians and influential individuals. These claims have been controversial and require careful examination to determine their authenticity.
The reason behind the arrest of Adil Raja
Recently, Adil Raja was arrested by UK Police on 14 June 2023. Based on the information provided, it appears that cases have been registered against Adil Raja in Pakistan under the provisions of The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
The latest complaint against him concerns his alleged involvement in inciting violence through YouTube and other platforms in the May 9 vandalism, which occurred following the arrest of Pakistani president Tehreek -e-Insaf (PTI). Raja is currently being questioned by investigators in connection with these allegations.
Furthermore, it was reported that Raja’s YouTube channel was recently banned for spreading false information. This indicates that his channel violated YouTube’s policies on disseminating misinformation, resulting in the suspension or removal of the channel.
In Pakistan, Adil Raja has faced a number of charges related to inciting an uprising against the state and is known for being a strong critic of the country’s military establishment.

But soon after nearly 8 hours, Adil Raja was released on bail. London police released after several hours of questioning. Confirming this development during a press conference in London, Adil Raja’s lawyer, Mehtab Aziz, announced that his client had been released following an investigation. Raja was detained by the police for about eight hours.
According to Aziz, Adil Raja expressed his intention to shut down his YouTube channel on Monday. However, attempts to contact him after his arrest on Tuesday were unsuccessful, as both Adil Raja’s and his family members’ phones are currently off.
In addition, Attorney Mehtab Aziz mentioned that it is believed that Adil Raja was arrested under the terms of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Aziz emphasized that if Raja is involved in any illegal activities, he will personally report to the police. He further affirmed his belief that Adil Raja was not involved in any wrongdoing.

Adil Raja’s supporters argue that it would be unfair if he was arrested and that he should be released immediately. They asserted that the allegations of defamation of the army were untrue and that Raja only targeted specific military officers, not the entire Pakistani Army. On the other hand, there are those who strongly oppose Adil Raja and argue that his YouTube videos need to be thoroughly vetted. They argued that if the allegations are proven true, appropriate action should be taken.
