This Christmas season, Food Network is launching a new reality TV food competition, Bake It ‘Til You Make It. The upcoming series will premiere on Monday, December 26, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT, the day after Christmas. Bake It ‘Til You Make It revolves around seven “passionate” bakers competing for a chance to win. Donavon ‘Monty’ Alderman, a former soccer player and high school coach, was one of seven bakers competing.
According to the official synopsis of the culinary reality TV show:
“The food network abandoned the set to follow seven talented amateur bakers. They are on their way to baking competitions around the country, while pursuing the best taste in the world: winning.”
Monty’s athletic career took a different turn a few years ago when he chose to pursue a career in baking and since then he hasn’t looked back.
Monty from Bake It ‘Til You Make It switched from athletics to baking and became a cooking instructor.
Monty from Bake It ‘Til You Make It owns Monty’s Neighborhood Snacks, where he teaches culinary workshops. Monty’s professional Instagram feed says his tagline is:
“Bring sweets to the street, a cupcake and a smile every time.”
Monty’s company has an Instagram account under the name @montsneighborhoodandsnacks. He has over 2400 followers and often posts photos and videos of his adventures and baking. Monty shares everything and is active on Instagram, from cakes to desserts and other baked goods. He also runs a cooking class where he teaches his students 4- to 12-course meal plans. According to one of his Instagram posts:
“Culinary dishes will have 4-12 live lessons. These programs will teach strategies to help anyone develop and improve their culinary skills. The eight-week course will cover everything from custards to pasta. All the lessons are interesting and stimulating.”
In addition, he organizes a cooking practice session in which students work in small groups to prepare a meal together with the teacher. Monty also has a local corporate Instagram account called @hoodsnacksde, where he shares similar stuff.
According to his website, he describes his company as follows:
“Monty’s Neighborhood Snacks is a family-owned cupcake company that helps improve people’s quality of life by providing great snacks while imparting skills survival, life, education, and careers through community service.”
His baking company has been featured on several food and travel websites across the country. Travel Noir magazine named it one of the top 50 bakeries in the United States.
