Mike Greenberg Biography

Mike Greenberg was born in New York on August 6, 1967, into a Jewish household. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1985. He moved on to Northwestern University for additional studies and graduated from there. He began his career as a sports anchor at WMAQ-AM in Chicago. Later that year, he began working for WSCR-Radio, leaving his position at WMAQ-AM.

He contributed essays to Copley News Service from 1993 to 1995. He listed SportsChannel Chicago on his résumé in 1994. Later that year, in 1996, he left SportsChannel Chicago to work for CLTV. He departed Chicago in 1996 while working for ESPN. He was the first ESPNEWS host.
