Bake It ‘Til You Make It, Food Network’s next docu-series, will feature seven amateur bakers showcasing their baking skills and sharing their personal stories. As they show the world what they’re made of, the show presents a unique look at baking.

The series, narrated by legendary cake decorator Duff Goldman, follows seven bakers competing as they feverishly pursue their dreams of sweet glory in some of the country’s toughest baking competitions. .”
Kareem Queeman from Washington DC is one of the actors expected to feature in Bake It’ Til You Make It. Creator, owner and CEO of Mr. Bake Sweets previously starred in American’s Best Baker and Bake It Like Buddy.
A contestant on Bake It ‘Til You Make It Kareem Queeman has been passionate about baking since she was a child.
When he was 8 years old, the Bake It ‘Til You Make It cast member discovered his passion for baking and all the goodies. His grandmother was supportive of him, and he enrolled in a female homemaking program in middle school with her support. While in high school, he sold cakes to his friends and classmates, which sparked an entrepreneurial spirit in him.
He went on to study Culinary Arts in New York before being hired to assist with the launch of Fluffy Thought Cakes in McLean. This was followed by supporting the launch of Crumbs Bakery in Washington, DC. All of this helped him acquire the skills he needed to open his own bakery, which he did in 2008.
The Maryland baker has participated in many culinary shows, including Beat Bobby Flay, Bake It Like Buddy and Sugar Rush Christmas. In an interview with The Washington Post, the Bake It ‘Til You Make It cast member discussed how difficult it is to be on the show and why he still does it. He said that he purposely placed himself on a platform so others could see him.
He continued:
“So other people who identify with me as Black, Brown and LGBTQ can say, I want to be on this show and I can be myself too. That’s what motivates me the most.”
In an interview with Buffer in November 2022, the Bake It ‘Til You Make It star stated, “I used to be scared of showing off my LGBT, Black identity in my profession.” This happened until he discovered the importance of being honest while showing support to the people in his community.
He continued:
“As a black, gay guy with aspirations of becoming a professional baker, I was concerned that my identity would hold me back. I don’t see anyone like me in the food business.”
He continued:
“When I first started working in professional kitchens, I simply wanted to be seen as someone committed to learning and growing, not being ‘bugged’ by my gender or burdened by stereotypes. Negative opinions sometimes apply to Blacks.”
Mr. Bake will now appear on Food Network’s Bake It ‘Til You Make It, which premieres December 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
