Ciao House, Food Network’s next culinary competition, will bring ten aspiring chefs to Italy to compete on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET. The ultimate aim is to be the last standing chef, as one person is eliminated every week. Mahoney, a Mirate employee from Los Angeles, prepares to compete in the upcoming tournament.

Jess Mahoney, a Ciao House participant, used to work in a seafood restaurant.

Jess Mahoney, who works in Mirate’s kitchen in Los Feliz, is one of ten slated participants for the culinary reality show. She notes that the Italian city’s geography reminds her of California, as well as the city’s passion for fresh food that she has witnessed over and over again. Jess went on to say:

“We are at the forefront of knowing where our food comes from and how animals are treated.” Italy likes to keep things as close to home as possible.

The Ciao House participant went on to say that she knew the show’s status as a reality show, but that it wasn’t “one of those hot looking people in a bikini.” Therefore, she aims to accumulate a large number of followers on social networks. She said that people in her business would watch the show because she wanted to stay true to herself rather than just focusing on winning. Jess compared herself to a sponge and said she hopes to learn during her time on the show.
