Meet Making the Cut’s 3D designer, Georgia Hardinge.

Georgia Hardinge graduated from Parsons Paris School of Art & Design in 2010 and founded her own business. The designer focuses on luxurious sustainability by using organic and recycled fabrics in her designs. She is also heavily influenced by architecture and employs the pleating technique to create three-dimensional sculptural silhouettes in free-flowing fabrics. Her influences often include London’s infrastructure, which offers a superb blend of ancient and new structures.

The designer’s website highlights her brand and says:

“Georgia Hardinge is a modern brand that is influenced by new technology and innovation. The company employs a strong sculptural aesthetic, offering a three-dimensional approach to wearable items.”

At the 2019 Drapers Awards, Hardinge was nominated for the Sustainability Award. When asked to characterize her brand in a 2019 interview with Drapers, the designer said:

“An intriguing sculptural, sustainable apparel company that takes a three-dimensional approach to feminine designs.”

In the interview, she also said that one of the most difficult difficulties facing the fashion business is sustainability.

Speaking further on the matter, she added:

“Because the retail business has such a detrimental impact on the environment, it’s critical that we all work together to make a difference.”
