On Saturday, July 1, Ellie Breaux was named Miss Texas 2023 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson, Texas. At the 86th edition of the tournament, she defeated 56 other women to earn the coveted title, sash, crown, and a 20,000-dollar scholarship. Ellie Breaux is a Houston native who was formerly Miss Tarrant County. She went to Miss America Texas’s Instagram account after her triumph to deliver a touching message:
“I still can’t believe this is happening.” I have to check myself in the mirror all the time to be sure I’m not dreaming.”
Ellie Breaux not only won Miss Texas 2023, but she also won preliminary phases of the prestigious competition, such as evening gown and talent show. Breaux did a dance and rhythmic gymnastics performance to Lady Gaga’s Top Gun: Maverick theme Hold My Hand during the latter.
Ellie Breaux is using her pageant scholarship to study fashion design.
22-year-old 2023 Miss Texas Ellie Breaux received her Bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of North Texas last month, with a concentration on retailing, global marketing, and business policy. She is presently following her longtime ambition of becoming a fashion designer.
Ellie, the daughter of a Houston police officer, has launched a community service effort called “Cops in the Community,” which tries to bridge the gap between police officers and ordinary citizens:
“My goal is for our children to perceive police officers as heroes rather than adversaries,” she remarked following her recent victory.
Following her coronation, she added:
“I want to unite Texas…I hail from a law enforcement background, and there is so much misunderstanding between police officers and their communities. And I’m working hard to bridge that divide so that we can unite Texas and, eventually, America.”
Ellie Breaux began participating in pageants as a college freshman and never anticipated competing on such large platforms as Miss Texas or Miss America. But once she understood that participating in pageants would help her build her community service program, she couldn’t stop. She hopes to pay off some of her student debts and obtain a Master’s degree in fashion design with the 20,000 dollars college scholarship she earned at Miss Texas in 2023. Ellie Breaux worked as a lifeguard in high school for four years and continued to do so throughout college.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, Elli Breaux worked as a personal shopper at H-E-B and a lifeguard at a Houston waterpark, according to her LinkedIn page. She has worked as a part-time marketing assistant for Varsity, Terry Costa, and Sherri Hill, as well as a model for Varsity. She is also a professional ballet dancer and the local Miss Texas Organization titleholder.
Breaux was elected Miss Tarrant County in 2022, Miss Park Cities in September 2021, and Miss Keller in February 2019. Madison Matlock, a Lamesa resident, and the former Miss DeWitt County, was awarded the first runner-up at Miss Texas 2023 on July 1. She received a $10,000 award as a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University.
