A Status Report on Neale Daniher
In a recent interview with “Let’s Talk,” Bec Daniher shared some significant updates on her father’s health. In 2013, Neale was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). He was informed by the doctor that he wouldn’t live beyond the first 27 months. Ten years after his diagnosis, in 2023, he has defied the odds, according to his daughter Bec Daniher. However, the illness is slowly but steadily changing the odds. Neale has lost his capacity to communicate.
“Dad can’t talk anymore,” Bec said. That presence of death is more real than it has ever been… “I can sense it creeping up on me.”
Neale, her famed father, is a co-founder of FightMND, an organization dedicated to discovering a cure for MND and establishing a world free of MND. FightMND has raised more than $10.45 million in AUD for illness research. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for MND in humans, while a medication therapy to assist in postponing development has been licensed.
