Snack vs. Chef pits 12 brilliant chefs in a battle to recreate classic snacks. They will have to create their own snack inspired by one of the most popular snacks of all time in Netflix’s food competition. Christian Gill, who has previously participated in the Beat Bobby Flay and Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge, is one of 12 chefs expected to compete on the show.
The plot of Snack vs Chef is as follows:
“This new culinary tournament, hosted by comedians Megan Stalter and Hari Kondabolu, pits 12 chefs against each other in the ultimate snack battle. They will be challenged to not only copy some of the world’s most famous snacks, but also design their own unique dishes inspired by famous classics. Only one person will win the $50,000 bonus.”
The show will launch on the streaming platform on November 30.

Christian Gill, La’el Collin’s personal chef, is one of the chefs scheduled to join Snack vs. The owner of Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey has been featured on several Food Network series and will now be participating in Netflix’s food competition. The chef is motivated by his mother and grandmother, but he only improves their abilities by trying new things. Christian was speaking on WLWT News 5 after winning Guy’s Grocery Games, where he chatted with Colin and Kelly about his experience on the show, where the chef used Cincinnati peppers to make his winning chili poutine.
Kelly says that the two are like fangirls, engrossed in the Snack vs. Upcoming Chef. They asked about the bounty amount because “it affects a lot of people,” and he replied:
“Kellogg’s No Kid Hungry initiative will feed nearly 200,000 children. They will provide more such meals in my honor to all those kids, that’s amazing. I was 50,000, then I was 100,000, and then I forgot. It is 200,000. That’s the first prize won. I made a total of $32,500 on the show, but feeding so many children is crazy.”
In 2019, the chef took on the Ultimate Challenge for Thanksgiving, competing with some of America’s most skilled chefs to craft the best Thanksgiving-themed dishes. He won the tournament and received a $25,000 reward. After winning Beat Bobby Flay, the Snack vs. Chef was on the Jungle Jim’s International Markets podcast, where Mark Borison and Gill discussed the Food Network show. When Mark asked the chef about his time on the show, he replied:
“Beating Bobby Flay was really a crazy experience for me because I’ve never done a show like it before, and I feel like with so many of the Food Network series, the recipe is pretty easy to cut.”
Christian expressed surprise that Bobby’s show was filmed live in front of an audience and went on to describe the concept of the show. He informed the podcast host that because JB Smoove was the host, they needed to provide vegan food.
He continued:
“Vegetarian plus 20 minutes plus bok choy is the perfect trio, like I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do until I’m halfway through.”
Gill has had a lot of wins, which will be a huge advantage in Snack vs. Chef. On November 30, stay tuned to see what happens when chefs enter the Netflix snack-focused tournament.
