Who Is Brenna Baker From “Blown Away”?

The third season of Netflix’s Blown Away will premiere on Friday, July 22, 2022. The first glass-blowing reality TV competition will once again pit ten finalists against one other for a $60,000 cash prize and a residence at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York.

Each week, presenter Nick Uhas and resident assessor Katherine Gray will choose a topic, and the participants will be required to create distinctive glass works, after which a glass artist will be removed weekly. Brenna Baker, the creator and director of Hollywood Hot Glass, is one of the ten finalists on Blown Away Season 3 and began her profession as a glass artist at the age of 14. Her interest in glass, on the other hand, started when she was three years old.

The participant on Blown Away had registered in a glass-blowing class at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. This is where she learned the fundamentals of both the mechanical and artistic components of crafting usable but beautiful glass art. She spent a year in Murano, Italy, as an apprentice to one of the world’s top glass sculptors, Pino Signoretto. The Blown Away glass artist toured the globe with the Hot Glass Show at the Corning Museum of Glass aboard Celebrity Solstice class ships, displaying her abilities and the craft of glass-blowing.

She spent the following several years studying business and working under many outstanding glass artisans all around the United States of America. She went on to become Steuben Glass’s youngest Master Gaffer (glass blower) and the company’s second female gaffer.

Steuben Glass is a famous glass master Federick Carder’s American fine glass and crystal business established in 1903. In 1918, the brand was acquired by Corning Glass Works and became Corning Incorporated. The Blown Away candidate also received valuable information and insight while teaching workshops at the Corning Museum of Glass’s Studio in New York.

After 16 years in the glass business, the Blown Away finalist made her first steps toward her ambition of being an independent glass artist and launching her own studio, the Hollywood Hot Glass, in South Florida in June 2013. Initially, they debuted on Groupon to offer live demos, but the studio has become so popular over the years that it is typically full. The studio has also gotten a lot of publicity from local news networks, particularly National Geographic, which has sped things up.

The nicest aspect, according to Baker, is being able to share her passion for glassblowing with the rest of the globe. She told Parkbench in an interview:

“I believe it’s always fulfilling because of the fact that so many people appreciate it never gets old. The fact that so many people like the glass-making process is the most satisfying element. It’s an incredible privilege to be able to share it with them. I believe every individual that writes in the reviews, “this is the finest experience of my life,” I’m like, oh my gosh, it’s such a pleasure to hear that.”
