His high school team won their tenth Texas football title in the 5A Division II final, with him as the starting quarterback. Nicolosi tossed eight touchdown passes without an interception in six games, propelling his team to the playoffs. Brayden was among the first to pledge to the University of Nevada in 2021, however he subsequently backed out. Brayden, then a three-star recruit, de-committed after getting an offer from Colorado State.
