Following Tresean Gore’s wrist injury, Bo Nickal will face Val Woodburn at UFC 290.
According to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Tresean Gore was forced to withdraw from the competition due to wrist problems that may require surgery. Nickal will now face Val Woodburn.
On his Instagram Stories, Gore revealed that he has torn a boat-shaped ligament in his wrist, which could put him out of action for 6–12 months. He went on to say that although he wanted to avoid surgery, it was a possibility.
He said he was “deeply disappointed” and “deeply sad” to miss the game, but he would “remain the champion and I’m still going to prove that I’m better than this guy and I am an elite boxer” shortly after he recovered from his illness.
Nickal, 27, had four first round finishes in his perfect 4-0 mixed martial arts record. At UFC 285, he made an impression when he quickly finished Jamie Pickett with an arm-triangle choke.
