Toby Keith announced earlier this year that he has stomach cancer and that he has been battling it since 2021. Keith’s Country Comes to Town tour was canceled after he was diagnosed and the dates were removed from the website. Keith revealed his illness in a social media post on June 12, 2022, and said that he is being treated for his illness with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. The article continues:
“Everything is looking up so far. I need time to recover, breathe and rest. I am very happy to spend this time with my family. But I will meet the fans sooner rather than later. I can hardly wait. –T.”
He then sent another message to his supporters, thanking them for their love and support, and calling them “the greatest fans in the world”. Keith was inducted into the Nashville Musicians Hall of Fame in November 2021 before being diagnosed with stomach cancer and he also played at the Hero Honors Festival at Daytona International Highway.
