Tami began her career as a stage performer in 1983 as Piglet in the San Francisco play Winnie-the-Pooh. After completing the film, she turned her attention from acting to professional dancing and joined the Neta Dance Company. Tami Stronach Dance, her own dance group, was founded in 2000.
She also founded Paper Canoe, a family performing arts group. She returned to acting in 2002 when she joined a theater group. In 2006, she appeared in Chambre at La MaMa Experiment Theater Club.
