Witness shares horrifying moment of fatal incident at busy train station
A commuter recently recounted a chilling incident he witnessed at Central Station, where a man was killed after falling onto the tracks. The victim, estimated to be around 30 years old and able to use a wheelchair or mobility scooter, fell onto the tracks Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and NSW Fire and Rescue, responded quickly to the incident before 3pm. Authorities confirmed that a man did indeed fall onto the tracks.
As trains passed by the scene, train commuters observed a sad scene near platform 19. According to a witness interviewed by NCA NewsWire, the area was cordoned off, with five police officers. , paramedics and stretchers on rails. Five more officers guarding the platform. Despite efforts to conceal parts of the track, the witness described the scene as “very traumatic”.
Expressing concern for train passengers, he expressed hope that none of them were involved in the accident. Sadly, the injured man was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital but died in transit. Although his identity has not been officially revealed, reports indicate that he is in his 30s.

For those traveling on the T1 and T9 lines, an additional 60 minutes should be allocated to their journey due to the incident. Passengers on routes T2, T3 and T8 may experience delays of up to 30 minutes.
