NEWARK, Ohio – In a recent development, Newark Police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the robbery at Park National Bank. The apprehension of 60-year-old Michael Lee Jones of Newark took place in Charleston, West Virginia, and was executed without any incident.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon, approximately at 2:00 p.m., when authorities received reports of an ongoing robbery at the Park National Bank located at 990 North 21st Street. Promptly responding to the distress call, officers swiftly converged on the scene to secure the bank premises and initiate the investigation.
As part of their investigative efforts, law enforcement officers and detectives methodically canvassed the area, seeking additional video footage from neighboring businesses and residents.
