Sudha Murthy’s career
Sudha Murty expressed her displeasure with the company’s sexism in a postcard addressed to the then-President of TELCO. She was then interviewed and hired immediately, becoming the first female engineer to work for TATA Locomotive and Engineering Company (TELCO), India’s largest automobile manufacturer. She started her career as a development engineer in Pune before moving to Mumbai and Jamshedpur. She also holds the position of senior systems analyst at Walchand Industry Group in Pune.
She founded the Infosys Foundation in 1996 and she currently serves as its president. In addition, she holds the position of visiting professor at Bangalore University. She holds a faculty position at Christ University.
The HR Kadim Diwan Building at IIT Kanpur and the Narayan Rao Melgiri Memorial National Law Library at NLSIU were both officially opened by the Infosys Foundation.
