According to the official Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, brother of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been appointed vice president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE Federal Supreme Council approved the nomination. As reported by WAM, the current Vice President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will continue in that position.
Sheikh Mansour has held positions as Minister of the Presidential Court and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. He has held many important positions since 2004, including Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the Ministerial Development Council and member of the Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council. He has a lot of expertise working for the public good.
Sheikh Mansour has also served as president of several organisations, including the board of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, the National Archives, the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, and the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Justice.
Sheikh Mansour, born in Abu Dhabi in 1970, completed his higher education there and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in international relations in 1993.
Before becoming minister in charge of presidential affairs in 2004, Sheikh Mansour began his career as the head of the office of his late father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding president of the UAE. In May 2009, he was appointed deputy prime minister and in July 2022 he was appointed minister of the presidential court.
