When Seth Welch’s daughter died, he dialed 911, and records of that call were aired in front of a judge in court. He said in the conversation that he and his wife put their daughter to bed at about 3:30 p.m., and when they checked on her the following day around 10 a.m., she was dead. During the call, a police officer questioned Seth whether he thought keeping his children sleeping for 3 to 10 hours was reasonable.
Following that, Seth and his wife were arrested for murder and child abuse. Seth, on the other hand, was sentenced to prison in January 2020 after his final hearing. However, owing to the Pandemic, his wife Tatiana Fusari stayed on trial for an extended period of time. The trial was halted because of the Pandemic. Finally, in November 2021, Tatiana Fusari was found guilty of the murder of her daughter Mary Welch. During her trial, Mary claimed that her husband abused her and tortured her, forcing her not to care for her little daughter Mary.

They were both living on a cult-like farm in Solon Township, Michigan, with their three children, including Mary Welch. On their property, they used to decorate their fences with religious words from the Holly Bible. Many Bible phrases were hand painted on posters that were placed outside their residence. But on August 2, 2018, their lives were turned upside down when Mary died of malnutrition. Their child weighed just 8 pounds. She weighed 6 pounds, and 12 ounces when she was born.
When the couple was charged with murder, they told the police that they refused to receive medical help for their malnourished daughter for religious reasons. They both portrayed themselves as Conservative Christian parents. They both stated that they did not seek medical attention because they were afraid of having their children taken away by Child Protective Services. They also did not seek medical care due to a lack of confidence and trust in medical services, as well as religious reasons. When Seth’s daughter died, he wrote a comment on Facebook about Mary Welch’s passing.
