Seth Greenberg is an ESPN college basketball commentator. He is an outspoken supporter of cancer research. However, there are whispers that he, too, is afflicted with cancer. Is this true? No, Greenberg, the former Virginia Tech basketball coach, does not have cancer. However, since his father died of lung cancer, he noted that his battle with the disease is “very personal.” Seth Vincent Greenberg, a Plainview, New York native, is a former college basketball coach turned ESPN commentator.

Furthermore, the disease has affected him emotionally in various ways. During his time at Virginia Tech, Hokies player Allen Calloway died of cancer in 2009, while another player, Coleman Collins, lost his father to lung disease in 2006. In September 2010, Seth informed The Roanoke Times of the Coaches vs. Cancer project, “It’s a cause that’s very dear to my heart.” It means a lot to us.”

Seth Greenberg is one of three children born to Marilyn and Ralph Greenberg.
