The driver, identified as Jesus Rodriguez, fled the scene without providing assistance. The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Subsequent investigations led to the apprehension of Rodriguez, who was found to be intoxicated. He has been taken into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
