“My dad can’t eat hot wings,” the child declares, unwilling to entertain the possibility. When the father’s “work emergency” forces him to cancel plans with his child, he and his pals end up having a home-alone rager. Charlie discovers, through a series of amusing diversions, that his father has a Batman-style subterranean bunker at home complete with hi-fi equipment, gadgets, superhero outfits, and autos.

MCU aficionados will recognize traces of nostalgia in Secret Headquarters.

When Wilson first appears in the Secret Headquarters trailer, he has dressed in an outfit similar to that of Robert Downey Jr.’s well-known Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Wilson is given the ideal chance to intervene and save the day when a few baddies force Kincaid and his friends to leave. Wilson finally discloses to his son that he is a superhero who has been chosen by an “alien entity” to be the Earth’s guardian. If the trailer for Secret Headquarters is any indicator, the film may have some resemblance to Robert Rodriguez’s 2001 thriller Spy Kids, which follows a group of youngsters who discover their parents work for a foreign intelligence organization.

The teaser snippets also suggest that the film will depend on the young actors’ promise and charm to weave together an enjoyable storyline that so far looks to be turning out like a joyful and uncomplicated Marvel movie and is guaranteed to entice MCU fans with new CGI and allusions. The Secret Headquarters cast also includes Jesse Williams, Keith L. Williams, Michael Pea, and Charles Melton, in addition to Wilson and Scobell.
