Kerr began her professional career at the age of 15 with Perth Glory, where she stayed from 2008 until 2012 before joining Sydney FC. She joined the Western New York Flash for the NWSL’s inaugural season in 2013 and helped lead the club to the NWSL Shield. She subsequently played in the same league for Sky Blue FC and the Chicago Red Stars. Kerr expressed her desire to play in Europe in 2019, and after receiving multiple offers from clubs such as Olympique Lyonnais, Kerr eventually signed with Chelsea, where she has won eight trophies, including back-to-back Women’s Super League titles, as well as helping the team reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League final for the first time in 2021.
