Saint-Joseph-du-Lac Ice hockey player Dustan Dion killed in moped-vehicle accident

The community of Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Quebec, is grappling with a profound loss as Dustan Dion, a promising ice hockey player and resident, tragically lost his life in a moped-vehicle accident. On a fateful day, October 11, 2023, tragedy struck as a collision occurred between a moped and a vehicle in the lower Laurentians of Quebec, near Saint-Eustache. The collision took place at the intersection of Principal and Laviolette Streets, adjacent to Highway 640, just before 8 p.m.

The 15-year-old Dustan Dion was riding his moped through the intersection when the collision transpired with a vehicle. Despite being rushed to Saint-Eustache Hospital by ambulance, tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities are diligently investigating the events leading up to this devastating incident to determine the circumstances that caused this heart-wrenching collision. The driver of the vehicle involved will be interviewed by the police as part of the ongoing investigation.
