Rob Niedermayer started his hockey career with the Hockey Tigers in the Western Hockey League in 1990. He has 24 goals and 26 assists this season. . After the season, he spent two seasons with the club, scoring 32 and 43 points. He was selected by the Florida Panthers to participate in the National Hockey League in 1993. He had 9 goals and 17 assists during the season. Next, in 1995, he set the best record of his career with 82 goals and 26 assists in the NHL.

The Panthers, his club, reached the Stanley Cup final the same year. However, the team was defeated by the Colorado Avalanche.
